About Caress Flow
What is Caress Flow?
Caress Flow is an advanced, non-invasive therapy designed to support female intimate health. It combines molecular oxygen with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid to promote tissue regeneration, improve circulation and support the body’s natural healing processes.
How does Caress Flow work?
Caress Flow delivers molecular oxygen together with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid to the treatment area using specialised applicators. Together, they help improve tissue oxygenation, hydration and circulation, creating an environment that supports the body’s natural tissue repair and regenerative processes.
What conditions can Caress Flow help treat?
Caress Flow offers personalised treatment protocols for a range of female intimate health conditions, including:
Vestibulitis, Recurrent Candidiasis, Vulvovaginal Atrophy, Urinary Incontinence, Lichen Conditions, Urethral Burning
Your clinician will determine whether Caress Flow is appropriate for your individual condition.
What is Vestibulitis?
Vestibulitis, more commonly referred to as provoked vestibulodynia, is a condition that causes pain, burning, stinging or tenderness around the entrance to the vagina (the vulval vestibule). Symptoms are often triggered by touch or pressure, such as during sexual intercourse, tampon insertion or a medical examination. The area may appear completely normal despite significant discomfort.
What is Vulvovaginal Atrophy?
Vulvovaginal atrophy, now often referred to as genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), occurs when there is a reduction in oestrogen, most commonly during and after menopause. Lower oestrogen levels can cause the vaginal and vulval tissues to become thinner, drier and less elastic. This can lead to vaginal dryness, irritation, burning, discomfort during sex and urinary symptoms such as urgency, frequency or recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs).
What is Recurrent Candidiasis?
Recurrent candidiasis, also known as recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC), occurs when vaginal thrush caused by Candida repeatedly returns. It can cause symptoms such as itching, soreness, burning, redness and abnormal vaginal discharge.
How many episodes are considered Recurrent Candidiasis?
Recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis is generally defined as three or more symptomatic episodes within a 12-month period. Some older definitions used four or more episodes per year, so you may see both figures in different sources.
Do you only get Urethral Burning with UTIs?
No. Urethral burning is not specific to a urinary tract infection (UTI). It can also occur with vaginal or vulval conditions, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), irritation from soaps or other products, vaginal dryness associated with menopause, pelvic floor problems and other causes of urethral or vulval pain.
If you experience persistent or recurrent burning, it is important to establish the underlying cause rather than assume it is always a UTI.
What are the different types of Urinary Incontinence?
Urinary incontinence means involuntary leakage of urine. The main types are:
Stress incontinence:Â Leakage occurs when pressure is placed on the bladder, for example when coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or lifting.
Urge incontinence:Â A sudden, strong need to urinate is followed by involuntary leakage. This is often associated with an overactive bladder.
Mixed incontinence:Â A combination of stress and urge incontinence.
Overflow incontinence:Â The bladder does not empty properly and becomes overly full, causing frequent or continuous dribbling of urine.
Functional incontinence:Â Leakage occurs because a person has difficulty reaching or using the toilet in time, rather than because of a problem with the bladder itself.
There are also less common forms of incontinence, and symptoms can overlap. A healthcare professional can help determine the type and underlying cause.
Is Caress Flow new?
Caress Flow uses technologies and treatment principles that have been used in healthcare for many years. While the specific Caress Flow treatment protocol may be newer, the underlying approaches are not necessarily new. Caress Flow was developed and has been used in Italy since 2018.
As with any newer treatment, it is important to distinguish between evidence supporting the individual technologies involved and evidence specifically studying the Caress Flow protocol. Your practitioner can discuss the evidence available and whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
Can Caress Flow be used at any age?
Caress Flow is suitable for adults aged 18 and over. Your clinician will assess your individual needs, medical history and suitability for treatment before making a recommendation.
Can Caress Flow be used as a preventative treatment for intimate well-being?
Caress Flow may be used to support intimate well-being even if you are not experiencing a specific condition. The treatment uses molecular oxygen and hyaluronic acid to support vaginal tissue health, hydration and comfort. Your clinician will assess whether Caress Flow is appropriate for your individual needs.
Is Caress Flow hormone therapy?
No. Caress Flow is a completely non-hormonal treatment designed to support the body’s natural healing processes.
How does Caress Flow differ from treatments such as laser, radiofrequency or hormone therapy?
Caress Flow offers a non-invasive, non-hormonal approach to intimate tissue health. It combines high-concentration oxygen with low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, without using heat to ablate or intentionally injure the vaginal tissue and without introducing hormones.
Is Caress Flow invasive?
No. Caress Flow is a completely non-invasive treatment. It requires no surgery, injections or anaesthetic, and most women can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
Understanding Caress Flow Technology
Why is oxygen used?
Oxygen plays an essential role in healthy tissue repair. It supports normal cellular function, circulation, collagen production and tissue regeneration, helping the body heal naturally.
What are the benefits of oxygen therapy?
Oxygen therapy delivers oxygen to tissues to support the body’s natural healing and repair processes. In intimate health, oxygen-based treatments may help improve local tissue oxygenation and circulation and support the health and function of vaginal and vulval tissues.
The potential benefits depend on the type of oxygen therapy used and the condition being treated. Your clinician will discuss whether it is appropriate for your individual needs.
Why is hyaluronic acid used?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present throughout the body and helps maintain tissue hydration, elasticity and healing. The low molecular weight formulation used in Caress Flow is designed to support tissue repair and improve comfort.
Does hyaluronic acid need to be injected to work?
No. Hyaluronic acid does not necessarily need to be injected to provide benefits. It can also be applied topically or delivered through other treatment methods, depending on the product and its intended use.
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body and has the ability to attract and retain water. When used in intimate healthcare, it may help support hydration, moisture and the comfort of vaginal and vulval tissues.
Why are oxygen and hyaluronic acid combined?
These two components work together to support different aspects of tissue health. Oxygen helps improve circulation and cellular activity, while hyaluronic acid supports hydration, elasticity and tissue repair. Together they create an environment that promotes natural regeneration.
Does Caress Flow repair tissue?
Caress Flow is designed to support the body’s natural tissue healing and regenerative processes. Individual results will vary depending on the condition being treated and each person’s response to treatment.
How do we know Caress Flow works, and is it supported by clinical research?
Yes. Caress Flow is supported by published clinical research investigating the use of molecular oxygen and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid in women’s intimate health. Clinical studies and supporting literature are available for patients and healthcare professionals wishing to learn more.

Treatment Plans
Why are there different treatment protocols?
Different women’s intimate health conditions affect different tissues and require different treatment approaches. Caress Flow uses condition-specific treatment protocols that vary in application method, treatment duration and treatment frequency to provide personalised care tailored to your individual needs.
How does my clinician decide which treatment protocol is right for me?
Your clinician will assess your symptoms, diagnosis, medical history and treatment goals before recommending the most appropriate Caress Flow treatment protocol. Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on the condition being treated and your individual treatment plan. Typically, a course consists of 5 treatments, although this may vary depending on your condition. Typical protocols include:
Vestibulitis – 5 weekly treatments
Recurrent candidiasis – 5 weekly treatments
Vulvovaginal atrophy – 5 treatments every two weeks
Urinary incontinence – 5 treatments every two weeks
Lichen conditions – 5 weekly treatments
Urethral burning – 6 weekly treatments followed by 2 maintenance treatments every two weeks
